The writing is absolutely horrible. It was like the author was given an assignment to write a story with descriptive writing, but you are not allowed to use the same word twice. So, like any good student would, she gets out her thesaurus and follows the guidelines to a tee. This doesn't come across as intelligent writing, in fact some of the words she uses are laughable and unnecessary for the imagery she is trying to create. Very pretentious.
